The Mindful Hermit Online Classes

Class Every Sunday @ 6:30 $15

In the advanced study group we study the deepest aspects of the Tarot through the lenses of
Numerology, Astrology, Hermetic Kabbalah, Etymology, and t
he esoteric symbolism within the cards.
After exploring the mystical aspects of the Tarot we use meditation to imprint the teachings into our
mind’s. After the meditation session, we apply our skills with the means of Divination, giving and trading
readings with each other. This class usually runs 3ish hours, the sessions are designed to exercise
concentration, critical thinking, sensory clarity and equanimity the entire session, leaving no stone
unturned. Every week is a rotating card, and work through the Fools journey. Participants are
encouraged ask questions in the sessions that challenge each other and also asked to study throughout
the week to come fully prepared to dive into the topic of the night. The topics of study covered in this
class are made to challenge our outlooks and understanding of the world, reality as well as social norms
via the images of the tarot. All are welcome to this group, although, the persons who attend this group
have been studying for months and have a deep understanding of Tarot and converse about very
advanced topics.

General Description of Classes

By combining the use of deep study of the Tarotic arts, meditation and community we can better understand ourselves and each other. The Tarot is a key to the subconscious, just as all intuitive and mystical tools. This group is intended to provide a support group and community for those who so chose to use the Intuitive, Metaphysical and Mystical Device. Each meeting will consist of a focused topic of discussion, the first 22 meetings will be focused on the Major arcana with open discussion focused on anything associated with the card of the Day/Week. Private lessons available.

This is a drop-in group of Tarot enthusiasts that meets once a week, facilitated by Nicholas O'Donnell. The meetings will consist of focused open Tarot discussion, Tarot meditations, Tarot theory and theosophy, Tarot reading, Tarot history, Tarot symbolism, etc. The intention is to deepen Tarot understanding and build a local Tarot community. Tarot practice usually occurs after the formal meeting has ended.

This is a non-denominational Tarot Study Group. Through building community, study and meditation with the Tarot, we can better understand each other and ourselves. The Tarot is a key to the subconscious, just as are all intuitive and mystical tools. This group is intended to provide a support group and community for those who so chose to use this intuitive, metaphysical, and mystical device.

Each meeting will consist of a focused topic of discussion; the first 22 meetings will be focused on the Major Arcana, with open discussion focused on anything associated with the card of the week. Ultimately members of the group may find the passion and drive to have the desire to present to the group themselves. For example, if the focus is the Empress, a group member may volunteer to prepare a presentation of the Empress from their perspective to better express their spiritual, emotional, and intellectual thoughts. These presentations can be done with a PowerPoint, creating interactive activities, meditations, music, art, etc. — any form of creative expression that the group member so chooses to express.

After the open discussion and/or presentations, any attendees who have questions about the topic or any topic about Tarot may ask. After questions, a 25-minute mindfulness meditation that is focused on the Tarot will conclude the formal meeting. The members of the group may stay and converse after the formal meeting is concluded. If any insight or arisings happen during the meditation, this is a time for members to share their experiences.

Mindfulness Meditation

Private Lessons Only

Mindfulness meditation was originally called vipassana. Vipassana was the supposed meditation practice that The Buddha did to become enlightened. Mindfulness meditation is basically getting in touch with how we experience and sense the world through seeing, hearing, and feeling. In the system of Unified Mindfulness, we utilize three core skills: concentration, sensory clarity, and equanimity. Applying these three core skills to our sensory categories of seeing, hearing, and feeling, our experience of what being Human is becomes enhanced or “enlightened”.

Mindfulness meditation has been proven to lower anxiety, increase happiness, and just bring more fulfillment to life. Science is just now catching up with what the meditation community has been claiming for thousands of years: meditation is healthy! Mindfulness meditation is also useful for metaphysical and intuitive work such as channeling or tarot reading, because when we can better understand how we're sensing and experiencing a situation, we can better communicate how the reading or the intuitive work is going or understood to others.

Using the three core skills of sensory clarity, concentration and equanimity we explore our experiences of seeing, hearing and feeling. We distinguish inner experience from outer experiences which allows us to be more clear about how we are using the mediation for metaphysical work and communication. Each class will focus on one specific technique every two weeks so the student feels equipped to be able to practice at home.
